The Sciton® MOXI™ Procedure

On the day of treatment, the area to be treated will be cleansed and a numbing cream will be applied to ensure that you are comfortable. Then, the special MOXI™ handpiece will deliver fractionated laser energy to create micro-wounds in the skin, which your body repairs by stimulating collagen production. This results in an overall improvement in skin texture and tone. Most patients tolerate this treatment well, and a cooling-air mechanism may be used to help cool the skin. Overall, this treatment is fast and easy, taking under 30 minutes to complete.

Sciton® MOXI™ Results

There is little to no downtime needed after Sciton® MOXI™ treatments, so you can feel free to return to your normal activities as soon as you wish. The day after treatment your skin may be slightly red, though makeup can be applied 24 hours after treatment. Some people may also see small micro-dots known as MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) that appear where the laser was applied. These dots will darken over time and feel rough, and then slough off showing fresh skin underneath. Our team will give you specific instructions as to how to care for your skin after your treatment. Results typically appear within 3-5 days, but it will vary by patient.
