What is Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC?

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC is a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler created to treat facial wrinkles and increase lip fullness. It is very similar to Juvéderm® Ultra XC, only its formula is a bit thicker and it offers a slightly superior outcome. It is able to fill in deeper lines and creased in the mid-face and can be used in many different applications such as plumping the lips to help you achieve a younger appearance.

Who Can Benefit from Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC?

Adults 21 years and older who have deeper facial creases and more noticeable volume loss can benefit from Juvéderm® Ultra XC. However, patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have a history of severe allergic reactions or keloid scarring, or have pigmentation disorders should not receive this treatment. The Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC Treatment

Your Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC treatment will begin with your injector determining which areas to treat, and then the skin will be cleansed. The filler will then be carefully injected into the necessary areas. Because Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC contains lidocaine, injections should not be painful. Your injector may then gently massage these areas to ensure that the filler is evenly distributed for the best results. Treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the amount of change desired.

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC Results

There are some temporary side effects that patients may experience following treatment, including slight redness, swelling, bruising, or itchiness at the injection site. While there is no downtime required, our team recommends that you minimize strenuous activities and exercise and long-term exposure to the sun for the first 24 hours after treatment for the best outcomes.

While some results may be noticeable directly after treatment, they will continue to improve over the next couple of months as swelling resides. Overall, results can last up to one year for some.
