HydraFacial™ Keravive Treatment Results

Following your Keravive treatment, your scalp and hair may be damp, which should dry within 15-20 minutes after the end of treatment. You can feel free to use hair styling products as soon as the hair and scalp have dried, though we recommend waiting 6-12 hours before washing your hair. For the best results, we recommend that you receive one treatment a month for three months with continuous daily use of the take-home spray. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions that you may have regarding the at-home portion of treatment to ensure the best results.

How does laser hair removal work?

The laser used in laser hair removal is attracted to the melanin pigment in the hair shaft and it uses laser light to target, heat up, and destroy the hair shaft and the follicle.

Is laser hair removal safe?

Yes! Laser hair removal at SkinCeuticals SkinLab is entirely safe. We use a low-energy laser so you don’t have to worry about skin irritation or burns.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

No. While you may feel some discomfort, you will likely not feel any pain. Laser hair removal is far more comfortable than other forms of hair removal.

What areas of the body can be treated with laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal can be used on the face, arms, underarms, back, bikini area, and legs.

How many sessions of laser hair removal are typically needed?

For most people, six to nine treatment sessions are needed to achieve the desired results.

How long does each laser hair removal session take?

It really depends on the area being treated. The face is going to take less time than the legs or the back, but sessions typically last about 30 minutes to an hour.

What should I expect before, during, and after a laser hair removal treatment?

Before laser hair removal, try to avoid direct sun exposure and wear sunscreen when outside. You will also want to avoid tweezing or waxing for at least a month ahead of your appointment, but you should shave the treated areas 12-24 hours before the treatment. During treatment, your provider will cleanse the skin and then use the handpiece to target the hair follicles with laser energy. After treatment, avoid applying lotion, deodorant, or makeup to the treated area. You will see your hair shedding 5-10 days later.

What are the potential side effects of laser hair removal?

The possible side effects of laser hair removal include hyperpigmentation, blisters, redness, and skin irritation.

What is the cost of laser hair removal and are there any financing options available?

The cost of laser hair removal can differ greatly depending on how big of an area you’re having treated, how experienced your provider is, and where they are located. Your provider can discuss cost and financing with you at your consultation.

Are there any restrictions or precautions to take before and after laser hair removal sessions?

Before getting laser hair removal, you’ll want to avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning for a month before your appointment. You’ll also want to avoid waxing and tweezing. After the treatment, you’ll want to avoid putting lotions, deodorants, and makeup on the treated area. You should also avoid the sun after treatment as the skin will be sensitive.
