What is the Sciton® BBL® Treatment?

Sciton® BBL® is a broadband light therapy designed to target unwanted pigmentation and uneven skin texture for a more youthful appearance. Broadband light (BBL) is the world’s most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) device available. It uses short blasts of strong light to gently heat the uppermost layers of your skin, stimulating collagen production to restore a more even complexion. 

This treatment can be performed on almost all parts of the body but is most commonly used on the face, neck, chest, and hands. It is ideal for targeting: 

  • Acne scarring. 
  • Sun damage. 
  • Skin tightening. 
  • Pigmented lesions. 
  • Vascular lesions.

Who Can Benefit from the Sciton® BBL® Treatment?

Individuals who are looking to improve the overall texture and tone of their skin can often benefit from Sciton® BBL® treatments. Generally, BBL treatments work best on lighter skin tones, though some darker tones may be able to benefit as well. The Sciton® BBL® Treatment Procedure

During your BBL® treatment, you will be asked to wear protective eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser light. Then, the special Sciton® BBL® handpiece will be passed across the appropriate areas, delivering high-powered energy to the skin. Most people describe this feeling like a rubber band snap, though it should not be overly uncomfortable. We will also apply cooling technology to ensure that your treatment experience is enjoyable.

Sciton® BBL® Treatment Results

There is no downtime required following your Sciton® BBL® treatment since it is noninvasive. You may experience temporary redness and swelling, which should fade within the next few days. We will provide you with specific aftercare instructions to ensure that your skin heals properly for the best results. Over the next few weeks, you will notice your skin becoming smoother and more evenly toned. The number of treatments that are right for you will depend on your desired results. However, the best results are usually seen after 3-6 treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart.

What is the typical duration of a Sciton® BBL session?

The average duration of Sciton® BBL treatments are under an hour, but the time range can vary significantly. Patients may only need five minutes before treatment is complete while other sessions may take 45 minutes.

Are there any side effects or risks associated with Sciton® BBL?

Sciton® BBL treatments are minimally invasive and will not cause major side effectsu2014patients can expect minor redness and sensitivity that will fade on its own.

What is Sciton® BBL treatment?

Sciton® BBL is a light therapy treatment intended to reverse signs of aging including but not limited to age spots, freckles, and sun damage.

What kind of post-treatment care is recommended for Sciton® BBL?

There is no real downtime needed, but patients should keep the treated area out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds. Patients may also be encouraged to keep their skin hydrated and moist.

What conditions can Sciton® BBL treat?

Sciton® BBL treatments are commonly used to treat redness and hyperpigmentation. Some patients with hyperpigmentation or conditions like rosacea may benefit from Sciton® BBL treatment.

How many Sciton® BBL sessions are usually required for optimal results?

On average, patients should schedule between six and nine treatments to maintain and optimize their results. Appointments will be spaced out between four and six weeks.

Is there any downtime associated with Sciton® BBL treatment?

There is no downtime required with Sciton® BBL, so patients can return to their normal routine right after treatment. If anything, patients should be gentle with the treated area and avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours.

Can Sciton® BBL be used in combination with other cosmetic procedures?

Sciton® BBL can safely be used with a variety of other treatments. If you are interested in a combination, you can ask for recommendations during your consultation.
