MicroPeel from SkinCeuticals

What is a MicroPeel?

A MicroPeel from SkinCeuticals is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment with three distinct steps that help to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. This procedure is performed in-office and combines exfoliation, a chemical solution, and cryogenic therapy to help boost the skin’s barrier. We offer these incredible treatments at SkinCeuticals SkinLab in East Grand Rapids, MI.

A MicroPeel from SkinCeuticals Can be Used to Improve the Following

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Laxity
  • Dullness
  • Skin Imperfections
  • Uneven texture

Who Can Benefit from a MicroPeel?

Anyone wishing to correct the above concerns on the face can benefit from a SkinCeuticals MicroPeel. This treatment does rely on using a chemical solution on the skin, so it is always best to consult with your chosen skin care professional before getting a MicroPeel. Those with extremely sensitive skin types, or those suffering from conditions like psoriasis, eczema, or wounded skin, may not be suitable for a chemical peel and should exercise extra caution.

What skin concerns can a micropeel address?

A micropeel can address a number of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dullness, skin elasticity issues, and uneven skin texture.

How long does a micropeel treatment take?

A micropeel treatment typically takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on your skin concerns or if other treatments are being done as well.

Is there any downtime after a micropeel?

There is very minimal downtime with a micropeel. You will likely have some itching and peeling afterward, but those side effects will subside after a few days.

How often should I get a micropeel?

We typically recommend patients receive a micropeel 4-6 times a year for optimal results.

Can I wear makeup after a micropeel?

You will want to avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after a micropeel.

Is a micropeel suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes, our Micropeel Sensitive is specifically formulated for those with sensitive skin. Your provider will tailor your micropeel to your needs.

How soon will I see results from a micropeel?

You will start to see the results of your micropeel after a few days once your skin begins to peel and the more radiant skin is revealed underneath.

Can I combine a micropeel with other treatments?

Yes, a micropeel can be combined with dermaplaning, Hydrafacial, laser treatments, and more.

Are there any side effects from a micropeel?

Some of the side effects of a micropeel include itching, redness, dryness, and a slight tingling sensation.

How does a micropeel differ from a regular chemical peel?

A micropeel combines a few different treatments, whereas a chemical peel only uses a chemical solution. A micropeel consists of exfoliation, a chemical solution, and cryogenic therapy.

What Type of MicroPeel Is Right for Me?

Chemical peels come in varying different strengths and depths usually categorized as superficial (mild), medium, or deep. The deeper the peel, the more aggressive the treatment is. A skin care expert looks at four different things to determine what chemical peel is right for you. These determining factors include your skin type, skin concern, skin care habits, and Fitzpatrick type. Your Fitzpatrick type is your skin color and the likelihood of your skin burning when in contact with the chemicals. At SkinCeuticals SkinLab we offer the following MicroPeels:

MicroPeel Sensitive

The MicroPeel sensitive is the gentlest offering among the line of peels from SkinCeuticals. This peel is suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive ones. It uses a mild medical-grade peel solution to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and debris away, whilst also unclogging pores. As an added benefit, this MicroPeel hydrates the skin.

MicroPeel

The Skinceuticals MicroPeel is a three-step process that uses either a 20% or 30% glycolic acid solution to accelerate cell renewal, stimulate collagen growth, and reduce signs of environmental damage. This peel is highly customizable and can be changed in ways to make it suitable for all skin types.

MicroPeel Plus

The MicroPeel Plus from SkinCeuticals enhances the benefits gained from the traditional MicroPeel but uses a combination of salicylic and glycolic acid to refine pores, reduce the appearance of acne, and improve texture, blotchiness, and uneven skin tone all in one step. This peel may cause moderate skin peeling and flaking.
